Club CL met Arsenal player’s ‘incredible’ agent; he wants to leave

Atletico Madrid want to sign Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin this summer after an impressive loan spell last season.

Goal claim Bellerin’s time at Real Betis has put him back on the market in a transfer window in which he looks set to leave Arsenal.

The defender has just one year left on his contract with the Gunners and a permanent move to Betis seemed the most likely outcome when the transfer market opened.

But Diego Simeone can deliver Champions League football and wants a new right-back, having lost Kieran Trippier to Newcastle this year.

Atlético Madrid want Bellerin

The report states that Atletico’s interest has reached the point where they have met Bellerin’s agent, although the situation has cooled slightly in recent days.

He also stresses that he wants to leave North London this summer, and it’s a wish that Arsenal are ready to fulfill.

But they don’t want to lose him for a pittance, despite his contract situation, and that could play against Betis and in favor of Atletico.

Other options on Atletico’s radar include Tottenham’s Emerson Royal, whose father recently claimed the defender had held talks with the Spanish giants.

It was reported in April that Betis held talks with Bellerin’s agent, who was described as ‘incredible’ by Mikel Arteta.

But it looks like they’ve run out of free rein at right-back, who played so impressively for them in La Liga last season.

Arsenal haven’t done so well in securing high fees for unwanted players during Arteta’s reign, but this is another chance for them to try, with a possible bidding war.
