Exciting transfer demand emerges at London Stadium – GiveMeSport
West Ham United have ‘surprised everyone’ with the way they have handled their business during the transfer window and ‘you can’t rule out’ the possibility of new faces heading to the London stadium, according to the Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.
The Hammers are preparing for another season of European football after finishing seventh in the Premier League table, leading boss David Moyes to look to add depth to his squad.
Are West Ham close to making any more signings?
West Ham may have been frustrated after Jesse Lingard opted to join Nottingham Forest instead of returning to east London earlier this week, but that hasn’t stopped Moyes in his tracks.
It’s because the Hammers have agreed a fee of £30.5m, which could rise by a further £5m in add-ons, with Sassuolo for frontman Gianluca Scamacca.
The 23-year-old scored 16 goals for his current employers last season and, if he completes his move, Scamacca will provide competition for Michail Antonio.
West Ham have also submitted a bid for Eintracht Frankfurt winger Filip Kostic, who has entered the final 12 months of his £43,000-a-week contract.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the talks are progressing well and that the Hammers are now discussing personal terms with the 29-year-old Serbian international.
What did Dharmesh Sheth say about the situation?
Sheth wouldn’t be surprised to see West Ham add new reinforcements to Moyes’ squad ahead of the September 1 transfer deadline.
The Sky Sports reporter believes there is plenty of time for the Hammers to continue heading to the negotiating table.
Sheth told GIVEMESPORT: “You can never rule it out because West Ham have surprised everyone, especially their fans, with how they have approached this transfer window and how quickly they are doing their business.
“Three signings are already in the works and there is potential for three or four more. We will still have the best part of five or six weeks left in the transfer window once this is all sorted.
“There is still time for West Ham United to do more business.”
Who have West Ham signed so far?
Nayef Aguerd became West Ham’s first summer arrival when he completed the £30million move from French side Rennes last month.
He was followed through the door by Alphonse Areola as the east Londoners took advantage of the permanent £7.75m option in the original loan deal with Paris Saint-Germain.
The Hammers’ latest acquisition was central midfielder Flynn Downes, who completed a £12m move from Championship side Swansea City.
