Chelsea interested in Casemiro
Chelsea will learn if Real Madrid star Casemiro is available this summer shortly after the Champions League final, reports Tom Hopkinson.
The Brazilian and his representatives will sit down after the Paris clash between Real and Liverpool on May 28 to decide on his future.
The 30-year-old, whose contract at the Bernabeu runs until June 2025, wants a raise but president Florentino Perez is adamant the club can’t grant him one.
As a result, the LaLiga champions will consider offers for the defensive midfielder and, if the right one comes along, they’re ready to let him go.
If Casemiro wants to stay on the same salary, Los Blancos will happily keep him.
But if the decision is made that he wants to move on, they will tell suitors they need to find around £42.5m.
Chelsea face a big summer in terms of squad play with several out of contract and others about to enter the final year of their contracts.
Thomas Tuchel would also like to strengthen himself even if this was not the case.
Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus also like Casemiro, but the player is keen on the Premier League and a move to London.
He will demand a three-year contract at Stamford Bridge if his meeting with Real confirms his exit.
